Letter to our boosters
Thank you for your support of Central Michigan University Athletics. We strive to maintain and cultivate deeper relationships with all of our fans and boosters. It remains a hope of ours for your continued involvement in Chippewa Athletics.

Who is a booster?
You are a Booster or a “representative of athletics interest,” if you:
Engaged in (or been a member of) an agency or organization promoting CMU Athletics
Have ever provided financial contributions to CMU Athletics or a booster organization
At the request of a CMU Athletics staff member, assisted in the recruitment of a prospect
Are a current parent or legal guardian to an enrolled student-athlete
Are association with the promotion of Central Michigan University’s athletic program(s) (e.g., alumni, friends, season ticket holders, etc.)

You may not provide benefits to a student-athlete, a prospect, or members of their family/friends; unless said benefits are available to all CMU students or the general public (e.g., clothes, cash, transportation, exclusive discounts, gifts, tickets, etc.).
You may not approach a CMU coach who is with a prospect; a “prospect” is any student who has begun classes for the 9th grade (in men’s basketball – 7th grade). You may not engage in recruiting conversations with prospects or members of their families. This includes communication via telephone or in writing (e.g., Twitter, Instagram, Email, etc.).
You may not provide entertainment or non-cash compensation to student-athletes unrelated to NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) activities.
You may not purchase apparel, equipment, awards, game tickets, or the like from current student-athletes.
You may not compensate student-athletes for their name, image, or likeness during official team activities.
You may not engage in NIL opportunities with CMU student-athletes without first notifying the CMU Athletics Compliance Office.
You may not provide NIL compensation to a high school recruit so they will attend Central Michigan University.
